Direct answer

Find the game, open its page, read the license, then download only if a file is listed. If it is not listed, use the source link or pick another title.

How this page was checked

  • The steps match the game-page sections: description, downloads, license, source, requirements.
  • We do not insert an account wall into that sequence.
  • We removed the claim that every game is DRM-free and fully owned by the player.

An installer from an upstream developer can still ask for admin rights. The game page tells you to follow that installer when it disagrees with us.

Our call

Follow the game page over the three marketing cards. “No DRM” and “full ownership” are not promises we can make for every freeware license.

Stop after step one if the listing has no file and no source link. There is nothing to install yet.

The sequence is how this site is built, written down next to the buttons that do it.

If a step fails, the useful report is a forum bug post that names the file, not a star rating.

Edge cases this page will not skip

  • A ZIP and an installer are different. The filename on the game page tells you which you have.
  • A browser game with a play URL is not a PC installer.
  • A failed launch is a requirements or source-repo problem, not something the homepage can fix.
Original diagram: open the catalog record, read the license, then download a hosted file or follow the source link.

How it works

Open the game page, read the license, then download only if a file is listed. No account is required for that file. “No DRM” and “you own it” are not promises we can make for every freeware license.

1. Open the record

Search or browse. The card is not the download. The game page is.

2. Check the file

If Downloads is missing, stop or follow the source link. Do not hunt for a copy elsewhere based on our title.

3. Install their way

Follow the installer or the developer readme when it disagrees with our generic steps. A failed launch is a requirements or upstream issue.

When the usual steps are wrong

  • A ZIP is not an installer. Extract it and run the executable the page names.
  • A play link is a browser game. There may be no PC file.
  • A Windows build does not become a Linux build because the site is open in a browser on Linux.
  • Admin rights are sometimes required by the upstream installer. We do not tell you to force them when the installer does not ask.
